Shuchi Anant Virya’s flagship brand, Powerbank, has announced the installation of 18 EV charging stations along the Manali-Leh road in Ladakh. Five of these charging stations have been constructed at the world’s highest motorable passes, including Khar dung La, Taglang La, and Chang La.

15 out of the 18 charging stations were built at elevations ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 feet above sea level. The installation of the charging points along the 1800-kilometer-long Manali-Leh route was completed in just ten days.

Locations where the charging points have been installed are Nubra, Kargil, Pan, Turtuk, Pangong, and the newly opened destination for Indian tourists, the Siachen Base Camp. The chargers installed are a mix of Type-I and Type-II AC, designed for electric two, three, and four-wheelers.

These EV charging stations have been installed at strategic and convenient sites along the serene road, including Hermis Monastery in Leh, Grand Dragon Hotel in Kargil, and Nubra Organic Retreat and Cafe-wala Chai in Nubra Valley.
