Eden Sanatorium (Saheed Durga Mall District Hospital) on an open gradient
having an area of about 40 acres. Lloyd Botanical Garden is open seven days a

11. Jhandi Dara Sunrise Point

13. Yiga Choeling Monastery (Ghoom
Monastery)

those who interested in Buddhist spirituality. It is located near Ghoom and you
can reach there by walking on foot in 5 minutes only. It was constructed in the
year 1875 by the Lama Sherab Gyatso. This olden monastery is said to have been
consecrated by the prominent Tomo Geshe Rimpoche of Tibet.

The attraction point of this
monastery is that it has the statue of 15 feet (4.6 m) idol of the ‘Future
Coming Buddha’ known as Maitreya Buddha. The Monastery has also conserved some
of the atypical handwritten Buddhist manuscripts. Couples should try the taste
of here Momos and Thukpa outside the monastery.

14. Magdhog Monastery

This second oldest monastery of
Darjeeling is also known as Aloobari Monastery and located on the Old Military
Road is usually known as the Aloobari road, the Mag-Dhog Yolmowa Buddhist
Monastery was established in 1914  under
the supervision of Ven. Sangay Lama, the head priest who formerly came from
Nepal.

The statues of Lord Buddha
portraying different forms and the statue of Padma Sambhave at this religious
place are dazzling. The painting on the wall is known to be made with the help
of herbs and is a remarkable work of art.

15. Peace Pagoda

In India, there are seven Peace
Pagodas. One of them also in Ladakh famous as Shanti Stupa. They are built as a
symbol of peace to inspire people of all races to help unite them for world

The Japanese Peace Pagoda was
made by Nipponzan Myohoji, a Japanese Buddhist order. Located on the slopes of Jalapahar Hill the pagoda can be accessed by foot or by taxi. Indeed, it is
the highest free structure in the town that showcases the four avatars of the
